PAINT YOUR CEILING HAPPY

Ceilings must always be painted white. Right? Well, no, actually. Most people believe (and constantly argue with me) that a white ceiling makes a room look bigger and that a darker or colored ceiling will make a space feel small and pokey. And that couldn't be further from the truth. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a white ceiling, but don't be scared to use colour. In many cases, a darker colour can actually make a wall appear taller and the room even larger because the eye doesn't immediately register where the ceiling line begins. Any special light fittings will also pop against a bit of colour. I've included a pic of a room, firstly painted with a white ceiling and then painted in the same colour as the wall. Which one looks bigger to you? Have a little fun with your decorating. It's only paint - very inexpensive and there are lots of ways to use it creatively.
