ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

Tangerine Tango, a rich reddish orange, was the 2012 Pantone Colour of the Year. Two years on and orange is still making a mark on interiors. It is one of those colours that can polarise people though. I understand that the brighter pops of orange can be a bit much for some. I actually think it shows you have personality but there are other subtle ways to introduce it into your space. The obvious choices are cushions and throws in lovely persimmon and saffron tones. But if you look carefully, you'll find hints of orange in all sorts of unexpected areas - exposed brickwork, terracotta pots and tan leather furniture. Lighting lamps also give you a gorgeous warm orange glow. I don't follow rules when it comes to decorating, but perhaps try a bright pop during Summer and a warming burnt orange for winter.
